Several years back I had been watching a TV program on PBS TV with Bob Ross and also William Alexander on how to paint. Both of these artists use techniques relevant to knowledge of under painting, mixing paint consistency, and loading the brush. I don't usually paint this way but decided to try it for a change. This painting was only supposed to be a practice painting. I intended to pitch it in the basket when I finished it. My nephew Dan saw it and asked me not to destroy it. He said that he liked it and that he wanted it for himself, so I decided to give it to him. When Dan moved to California for a career, he left it with his mother Joan because she said that she liked it also. When Joan repainted the house she asked me to put an nice frame on it and I decided to do so. Now that over a decade has passed I have come to appreciate it a lot myself. I'm glad I didn't destroy it and gave it to Dan. |
