Purple Mountain In Shadow

This is a landscape oil painting of some purple mountains cast in shadow. Originally I created this oil painting without any mountains in it. I actually started and finished this painting in 1999, but something always seemed to be missing.

I set it aside with other paintings and came back to it 10 years later. I decided to darken the tree line and add the purple mountains behind the tree line. The painting felt completed now so I signed and dated it. I hope you like it.
