Tulips

This is a still life oil painting of some tulips in a vase.

This oil painting is the result of a model that did not show up for one of my painting classes at Oakland Community College.  The instructor brought three groups of fresh cut flowers and set up still life scenes for the students to paint instead.  I chose this still life as my subject because the green hues are a direct color opposite to the red tulips.  I created a black background to calm the scene down a bit and properly balance it.
