Just The Way I Like It

This is a watercolor painting  of a golf course.  I especially liked the nuance of the shadows flowing across the fairway.  The shadows are Just The Way I Like It when the light source reveals the time of day by the length of the shadow.

I created this painting in the hot month of July when the beauty of a landscape will reveal itself to all who look for it. I created this painting from a picture of a golf course that I found in a magazine. I liked the balance of the composition, so I painted it.

I laid in many dark rich swatches of color in the waters reflection to give this painting a unique sense of impressionism. I kept my brush strokes spontaneous and loose to make sure the painting maintained it own visual rhythm.
