This is a watercolor painting of a Purple Mountain in the background and a stream running from it.

This painting was done from an image I saw in a golf magazine.  I especially liked the purple color of the mountains.  I thought the combination of sky, rock, land, and water would be challenging to paint.  The long shadows being cast from trees that can't be seen in the paintings help to create a sense of mystique.
