Composite Examples Page

Compositing images and pictures is the art of editing images, adding images, removing images, combining images, and just plain digitally manipulating digital images to create one great finished picture.

Example No. 1 (Family Portrait Picture)

Fostoria field Before composite family picture. After composite family picture.
This background was chosen because the direction for the light source is coming from behind and over my left shoulder. This happens to be the same for the family portrait in the next image. It is also analogous with the family portrait it will be used with. This family portrait was taken in the shade under some trees. The existing lighting on the subjects is great, but the landscape in the background is overexposed and most of the definition is washed away. The loss of the color in the background seriously reduces the overall quality of the image. The result from removing the washed out background and replacing it with an analogous background with the correct light axis creates a finished picture that is rich in color and more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
