This is a charcoal drawing of a cow skull. It was one of my O.C.C. drawing class assignments. It is a still life set-up on a piece of fabric.
I can't remember how much time we were allowed to complete the project, but it was probably about two hours in duration. The students are allowed to set the skull where they liked it best and one or two directional light sources to created hot spots contrasted against shadows.
I have had to study many bone drawings created by artists that worked in desert regions, but never drew bones until now. I kind of enjoyed this project.
