This is an impressionistic oil painting of the Tahquamenon River just outside the Rivermouth Campgrounds. I created this oil painting from a photograph I took of this waterscape with my Fuji digital camera. It was about nine or ten o'clock in the morning, and the water was very calm. This helped to create this great reflection on the water's surface.
This is the 2nd painting that I've done of this beautiful river up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I did some fishing on this river when I was up there and saw several very large Pike but I didn't catch anything. The fish just weren't biting. Only a few people caught a couple of walleyes early in the morning and that was about it.
