This impressionistic oil painting is of a secret little lake that I like to go fishing on when I have some extra time in the summer. There isn't one house that I am aware of located on this lake. It is located out between White Lake and the Milford area where there is a lot of state land and not so much development.
I often like to go for a ride out in the country during the fall color season and take pictures with my camera. I took this picture of Lower Pettibone Lake in the fall of 2004 just before the colors started peaking. I liked the rich blues in the sky and reflections in the water so much that I decided to create a painting of this waterscape.
When I look at it, I can almost hear how quiet it is on this lake.
I also have several fall color pictures of Petabone Lake that I took during the fall color peak time of the year. You can find some of these images on my photography page.
